Dave the Travelling Bear
On Wednesday 24th April 2014 I read in a local Sydney newspaper that there exists a Guinness World Record for the longest distance traveled by a toy mascot.
Did that sound like the kind of record that needs to be challenged for?
Dave was purchased from a shop called Cardiology in North Sydney on the evening of Wednesday 24th April 2014 and named Dave the Travelling Bear that evening. His progress has been charted on Facebook using photo uploads and location tagging by the person travelling with him.

Guinness World Record – Most Traveled Toy Mascot
The most traveled toy mascot is a bear called Raymondo, owned by ISPY (UK), who traveled 395,605 miles (636,714.8 km) from 27 September 2009 to 3 September 2010, passing through 6 continents and 35 countries on his journey.

The Challenge
The world today is very different to the world say two decades ago. Travel is cheaper with hand luggage only, easier to book and with the help of Facebook and Twitter you can see when your friends and family are off on holiday. This gave me an idea. How hard could it be to break this record?
When possible a unique feature is in the shot to show he was definitely there (e.g. an airport sign, landmark, police man or road sign) This is Dave’s journey, and what a journey it is!
